Please call/text 0401 966 710 or email admin@youthpsychsa.com.au to make an appointment.
Appointments can be conducted face to face or via telehealth.
A standard psychological session in our North Adelaide office is 50 minutes- please arrive 15 mins early to each session. Please check any current SA Health directives (regarding social distancing) before attending your face to face appointment. Bring your Mental Health Care Plan (if you have one), your Medicare Card and a method of payment. Eftpos facilities are available and we accept VISA and MasterCard.
Although we are called Youth Psychology, our clients can be adults, adolescents or children. Our work with younger clients often involves members of their family. A course of therapy often involves six or more sessions. We place great importance on tailoring evidence-based treatment programs to focus on the individual needs of our clients. We believe treatment should be a collaborative process where the client/families and the psychologist agree upon treatment goals and work together to achieve them.
Youth Psychology SA recommends that mental health clients ask their GP, Paedatrician or Psychiatrist for a referral using a Mental Health Care Plan as this allows rebates for 10+ sessions in a calendar year. This will require a longer appointment with your treating medical professional before your first appointment at Youth Psychology SA.
Referrals are welcome for NDIS clients, either plan-managed or self-managed.
No referral is required for privately/ self-funded clients (e.g. client not requiring a medicare rebate).
Referrals on legal, insurance or return to work matters are best made by your lawyer or case worker- please seek clarification to decide if a specialist psychologist (e.g. a forensic psychologist) is required before booking.
The full fee for a standard session is $175.00. Your gap payment will depend on Medicare or private health eligibility and will be approximately $86.75.
We accept credit/debit cards and cash, and full payment is required at the time of consultation (we prefer payment via EFTPOS in clinic). We also offer online payments through Stripe or through an EFT bank transfer.
Please note: You can claim your Medicare benefit on the spot in the clinic with a debit card or into your bank account, provided you have registered your bank account details with Medicare. Electronic payments through Stripe or bank transfer will mean the medicare rebate may not come back into your account until the following day. You will need to check your Private Health Insurance regarding mental health service rebates rates and methods to claim rebates.
The fee for a NDIS psychology session is $234.83 as per the NDIS Price Guide 2020-21.
Youth Psychology SA does not provide a bulk bill/ no gap service to new concession clients (Health Care Card and Student Card holders).
If you would like to cancel or reschedule your appointments, we require 24 hours notice otherwise a $50 late cancellation fee will apply. This is not covered by Medicare or private health.
Many private health policies cover psychological services. Check your level of cover for psychological services with your Private Health Fund before your appointment. Please note that private health cover cannot be utilised to cover the ‘gap’ fee payable after claiming a Medicare rebate. Clients must decide which funding option they would like to utilise.
The cost of an assessment and report depends on the issues involved in the individual case. Your psychologist will estimate the number of sessions required for an assessment report and associated cost in the initial appointment. Please contact Youth Psychology SA for more information.
We can work with your organisation to design, plan and/or facilitate a range of therapeutic group or individual activities. Please call 0401 966 710 or email admin@youthpsychsa.com.au for more information.
